President Obama’s numbers are in free-fall and as he helpfully reminded us, his “policies are on the ballot — every single one of them.” Those policies – Obamacare, higher taxes, Common Core, anti-energy regulations – are wildly unpopular. And so, with Democrats in danger of being wiped out by an anti-Obama-policies tsunami up and down the ballot, they are desperately attempting to divert attention from their failed policies with a vicious smear campaign of racial division. We’ve now seen these shameful attacks in Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, and Maryland. (Ellen Carmichael has a great roundup at National Review Online.)
The worst race-baiting is taking place in North Carolina, where a flyer placed on windshields at black churches features an image of a lynching and says “Kay Hagan doesn’t WIN! Obama’s IMPEACHMENT will begin!”

Even worse, Senate Majority PAC, the super PAC closely associated with Harry Reid and funded by liberal billionaires Tom Steyer, Fred Eychaner, and Mike Bloomberg, is airing a race-baiting ad in North Carolina that appears nowhere on their website or YouTube channel. The ad smears conservative Thom Tillis for supporting “laws that caused the shooting death of Trayvon Martin”

The stealth nature of their ad buy is powerful evidence that they know what they are doing – smearing a good man by associating him with a killing – is wrong. They hope they can get away with it. We won’t let it stand.

Our ad endorses Thom Tillis based on his excellent record of policy achievement for the people of North Carolina including his historic tax cuts, his successful effort to roll back Common Core, and his historic reform of unemployment insurance that moved people off the rolls and into jobs.
Tillis has a record of achievement that frightens liberals who know he will effectively fight Obama’s failed agenda in Washington. So they are desperately playing the race card. It’s wrong.
