The resolution would make clear that a carbon tax would be economically destructive and shoudl therefore not be considered as a new revenue source for Congress. Putting the House on the record in strong opposition to a carbon tax is critical because there are many indications that it is being considered as a major revenue source to fund a permanently larger federal government that could emerge as an element in a secret fiscal deal.
