New Ad Blasts Terry McAuliffe for GreenTech Scheme, $85 Million Lawsuit to Suppress Journalists - American Commitment

Washington, D.C.—American Commitment is launching an online ad campaign today hitting Terry McAuliffe for the GreenTech scheme with Virginia taxpayer dollars, and his company’s subsequent $85 million lawsuit against the investigative journalists who uncovered public documents revealing the plan.
The 30-second ad, titled “Swindle,” urges citizens to call Terry McAuliffe to tell him to ask his associates to drop the lawsuit and stop attempting to swindle Virginia taxpayers.
“This $85 million lawsuit is clearly a shameful attempt to conceal a shameful scheme,” said Phil Kerpen, president of American Commitment. “The GreenTech scheme was bad for Virginia taxpayers and efforts to suppress investigative journalists telling the truth are bad for the Commonwealth and the First Amendment.”
The ad begins: “Terry McAuliffe tried to fund his GreenTech scheme with Virginia taxpayer dollars.”
“But Governor Tim Kaine’s Administration said NO.”
“Why?”
“One official called it a visa-for-sale scheme with potential national security implications.”
“Another said it broke federal rules and would give the Commonwealth a black eye.”
“Now McAuliffe’s company is suing the investigative reporters who uncovered these public documents for $85 million in a shameful attempt to hide the facts.”
The ad concludes by urging citizens to: “Call Terry McAuliffe. Tell him to urge his buddies to drop the lawsuit and stop trying to swindle Virginia taxpayers.”
